The 2008 Formula One World Championship heralds the start of a new era of Indian motorsport: the first full season for the Force India Formula One Team. In October 2007, Vijay Mallya joined together with Mol family to establish a joint venture company called OIH to purchase the Spyker Formula One Team.

This is a small step for extravagant Mallya but a giant leap for the sports in INDIA. Mallaya has spent quite a fortune in this F1 team, but will this work out as he expects them to. This team relies mostly on the support from one billion people, but how many people in India watch motor sports especially F1 race. People from the rural and semi-urbans don't watch them, trust me they don't take these high octane racing seriously.

Force India team need to put a lot of effort in order to make there presence felt in the world arena of motor sports. But it would take most probably another 5 years for the team to give a podium finish. Being an Indian i fully support my team and i want the world to know that India can make a difference in F1 too.

CHEERS INDIA.... Go on and on... TAKE OFF and blast away....
